Guaranteed Renewal

VHIS offers guaranteed renewal up to the age of 100 years for policyholders without re-underwriting, irrespective of changes in health conditions after policy inception. The insurer is required to offer renewal without any benefit reductions.

Unknown Pre-existing Conditions

Conditions already existed prior to the policy application of which the insured was unaware and should be reasonably unaware. Under the VHIS Standard Plan, unknown pre-existing conditions are covered from the second year of policy issuance with 25% coverage, third year with 50% coverage, and full coverage thereafter.

Prescribed Diagnostic Imaging Tests

VHIS covers prescribed diagnostic imaging tests conducted during hospital stay or in a day case setting (subject to 30% co-insurance under Standard Plan). The types of tests covered include magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”), computed tomography (“CT”), positron emission tomography (“PET”), PET-MRI combined and PET-CT combined.

Children

Children have weaker immune systems and are prone to illness, with flu and fever requiring hospitalisation. With VHIS, parents can claim private hospital expenses from the insurance company.

In the event of an injury or illness, VHIS lessens financial burden by offsetting medical expenses or paying for better medical services.

What is the difference between VHIS "Standard Plan" and "Flexible Plan"?

The terms and benefits of the standard plan are based on the minimum requirements set by the government, and the terms and benefits of the standard plan are very similar from one insurer to another.
