Most people buy life insurance hoping to provide financial protection for their family’s livelihood after they die, or to pass on an asset to loved ones upon their death, but for various reasons policyholders may not have told beneficiaries the policy details. When a relative dies, if the family wants to check whether their loved one had life insurance, what methods are available? And what documents do they need to prepare?
