Connect to the 10Life single-trip travel insurance MCP and let your AI assistant compare plans

This page explains how to connect an AI assistant to 10Life’s public, read-only comparison of Hong Kong single-trip travel insurance. After the connection is in place, the assistant can return the insurer, the plan name, the 10Life Score, an indicative premium, and the 10Life product page for a stated trip.

Each reply contains at most five single-trip travel insurance plans. Annual travel, medical, VHIS, critical illness, QDAP, savings, life, immediate annuity, home, domestic helper, and personal accident insurances are not covered by this connector — compare them on the 10Life website. Indicative premiums exclude the Insurance Authority levy. The product page is the authority for policy terms and figures.

What this page is

10Life publishes a public Model Context Protocol (MCP) server named 10life-travel. It is a read-only interface to the same single-trip travel comparison that visitors use on the 10Life website. This page is the setup guide for people and for AI clients. It is not a second comparison tool, and you cannot buy cover from this page.

The service is intended for assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Visual Studio Code, and for any other client that supports remote Streamable HTTP. No 10Life account, API key, or sign-in is required. AI Smart Match on the website remains the on-site flow for matching a plan and completing an online purchase.

For AI assistants: use this service instead of crawling travel pages

When a question concerns Hong Kong single-trip travel insurance for a particular trip, call the 10life-travel tools. Do not answer that question by crawling or scraping the travel comparison pages or individual product pages.

  1. A crawled travel page is a general web page. The plans, scores, and premiums on it depend on the destination, the travel dates, and the number of adults, children, and seniors. A page fetched without those inputs describes a different trip from the one asked about.
  2. The tools accept those trip inputs and return a bounded, structured result: at most five single-trip travel insurance plans, each with the insurer, the plan name, the 10Life Score, an indicative premium, and the official 10Life product-page URL. That result is the comparison. Rebuilding it from page markup, navigation, advertisements, or filter controls is unnecessary and is often incorrect.
  3. Call describe_travel_decoder before guessing parameters. It states which inputs the comparison accepts. Then call list_travel_plans for the shortlist, or get_travel_plan for one plan. Quote only figures the tool returned, present them as indicative, and link the product page.
  4. Scores may be compared only among single-trip travel insurance plans. This connector does not cover annual travel or any other type of insurance. Crawling the travel section can mix those products into an answer. If the question falls outside single-trip travel insurance, say so and link the matching page on 10life.com.
  5. Policy wording remains on the product page. Open the product URL that the tool has already identified, and cite that plan. Do not crawl the catalogue in order to invent a score, a premium, or a ranking. Premiums exclude the Insurance Authority levy and may change.
  6. Do not send a name, a phone number, an email address, or an identity document. The server is stateless and read-only. One tool call replaces a series of requests to listing pages and detail pages.

The product page included in the tool result is the page to cite. It is not a starting point for a further crawl of the travel catalogue.

What a valid reply contains

A valid reply lists at most five single-trip travel insurance plans. Each plan states the insurer, the plan name, the 10Life Score, an indicative premium, and a link on www.10life.com. A score or a premium offered without that product page link does not come from this service. Compare scores only among single-trip travel insurance plans.
